The gold standard in certification for HVAC technicians is from NATE (North American Technician Excellence). Rigorous testing is required for certification, and technicians can become certified in specific specialties like air conditioning, heat pumps, air distribution, HVAC efficiency, and more.

At Denver Furnace & AC, we’ve been NATE certified for over a decade, and are a member of their prestigious Quality Circle, which is reserved for companies with over 80% of their technicians certified.

Building Professional Institute (BPI) Certification

BPI is the premier standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy auditing. Denver and Aurora CO homeowners want to make sure that any energy-efficiency professional they are considering is certified and in good standing with this organization.

Consumer Reports says: “Watch for fly-by-night companies—blow and go is the industry term—who charge a hefty fee for an audit, promise major upgrades, then disappear. Choose a contractor certified by the Building Performance Institute. They’re required to do an audit before and after any work to guarantee results.” (Consumer Reports, October 2013)

The Indoor Environment & Energy Efficiency Association is a membership organization focused on helping promote professional contracting, energy efficiency, and healthy, comfortable indoor environments. They write standards for design, maintenance, installation, testing, and performance of indoor environment systems. We are members in good standing, and have been for years.
